At Gute Laune, we're serious about great food without taking ourselves too seriously. We serve authentic German-inspired comfort food in a lively beerhall atmosphere, and we're looking for an experienced Prep Cook who takes pride in organization, consistency, and setting the kitchen up for success.
This is a prep-heavy position with line cooking responsibilities. If you enjoy building great food from the ground up, understand the importance of mise en place, and know that a well-prepped kitchen is the backbone of every successful service, we'd love to meet you.
What You'll Be Doing
- Preparing vegetables, proteins, sauces, vinaigrettes, pickles, and other recipes according to house standards
- Producing consistent, high-quality prep while maintaining speed and organization
- Cooking and plating menu items during service as needed
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and fully stocked station throughout your shift
- Following recipes and food safety standards with attention to detail
- Assisting with receiving, rotating, and properly storing inventory
- Working closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service every day
What We're Looking For
- Previous professional kitchen experience is required
- Strong knife skills and solid prep fundamentals
- Working knowledge of basic sauces, vinaigrettes, emulsions, and standard kitchen preparations
- Understanding of proper kitchen etiquette, sanitation, food safety, and teamwork
- Ability to stay organized and productive in a fast-paced environment
- Someone who takes pride in consistency, cleanliness, and quality
- Reliable, punctual, and ready to contribute every shift
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn and grow with the team
