The Concrete Finisher 1 is responsible for setting up, pouring, and finishing concrete surfaces, including but not limited to floors, sidewalks, ramps, driveways, curbs, stairs, footings, pavement, and walls. This position is also responsible for finishing edges, assisting with grading and assessing grade conditions.
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
- Experience: 1+ years of experience as a finisher or concrete laborer in concrete industry with knowledge of grades, how to set forms, finishing edges, assisting and assessing grade conditions, etc. required
- Licenses or certifications:
o ADA Certification and the ACI certification preferred
o Valid driver’s license preferred
o Must be able to read and write in either Spanish or English
o Must be able to operate a skid steer, track hoe, truck and trailer (back up a truck and trailer)
This is a Full-Time position with standard working hours of Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. with occasional night work and weekends. This is an hourly/non-exempt position that is entitled to overtime pay.

- Meal Breaks: Meal breaks of 30 minutes or longer may be taken and are unpaid
Reports to: This position reports to the Foreman
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibility
· · Finish edges to create smooth clean concreate surfaces
- Assist with grading to ensure adequate grading conditions
- Assess and evaluate grade condition before laying concrete
- Aid in the removal of old concrete or excavation of sub grade using equipment and hand tools
- Grade to proper elevation using equipment, shovels, and rakes checking heights using lasers and string lines
- Properly construct wooden/steel forms for radiuses, contours, or straight areas
- Position forms that hold concrete to the correct depth and ensure they are properly aligned
- Install expansion joints, rebar, and wire mesh as called for in job
- Remove unneeded materials from the working area to a designated location, keeping a clean and safe job site
- Note site conditions, ground temperature, air temperature, and humidity levels and adjust mix designs to achieve proper set times
- Use of proper finishing tools including but not limited to screeds, bull floats, fresnos, mag floats, wood floats, edgers and brooms to finish surfaces to specifications
This job operates outside in varied elements which includes hot summers and cold winters.
