Job Title: Tape and Texture (Paint)

Salary Range: $22.00-$25.00 hourly

With a strong focus on multi-family and multi-story apartments and hotels, our projects are custom-built to meet local codes, client specifications, and architectural design requirements.
The individual in this role will perform drywall finishing tasks related to the taping, mudding, and texturing of modular construction units within the Paint Department. This person should have a strong attention to detail, an understanding of finishing techniques, and the ability to produce high-quality surfaces ready for paint. This role includes preparing surfaces, applying compounds, matching textures, and ensuring a consistent finish across units.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and apply joint compound to drywall seams, joints, and fastener holes
- Tape drywall seams and ensure proper adhesion and coverage
- Sand between coats to achieve smooth finishes
- Apply and match textures including orange peel, knockdown, skip trowel, and splatter
- Float drywall seams to create smooth, paint-ready surfaces
- Inspect finished surfaces to ensure defects are corrected prior to painting
- Assist with minor painting tasks as needed
- Use hand tools and finishing tools effectively and safely
- Maintain quality standards while working within production timelines
- Identify and address surface imperfections before moving to the next production stage
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 1+ year of drywall taping and texture experience in residential or commercial construction
- Experience with various drywall textures and finishing techniques
- Ability to operate hand tools and finishing equipment
- Familiarity with construction workflows and production environments
- Ability to work overtime as needed
- Understanding of safety practices, PPE, and jobsite awareness

Physical Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit; talk, hear, see, reach, stoop, and kneel.
- Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, and handling materials.
- Must be able to lift and carry 50Ibs.
- Moderately loud noise level.
- Comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces.
