Position Summary:
Buyer is accountable for maintaining and assessing supplier performance to ensure quality, pricing, and timely delivery of products. This role involves achieving cost management targets while optimizing inventory levels to minimize stockouts and excess. The Buyer must ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and industry standards, actively monitor market conditions to maintain competitive pricing and product offerings, and effectively communicate procurement strategies and updates to internal management. Additionally, the Buyer is responsible for generating monthly promotions to drive sales and executing annual trade show negotiations. The categories managed by this role primarily include tobacco products but may also extend to other product categories. The position requires overnight travel 5-10%.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS: Candidates should possess strong negotiation and communication skills, as well as excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to manage interruptions effectively. Proficiency in inventory management, forecasting and software knowledge in Excel/PowerBI is essential. A solid understanding of tobacco regulations and compliance is also required, alongside the ability to manage multiple product categories. The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, adaptable, and able to work both independently and collaboratively.
EXPERIENCE: This role prefers a bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field, along with a minimum of three years experience in procurement with knowledge in the Tobacco industry.
Required HS Diploma or GED.
Pay: $50,000.00 per year
