Structured Cabling Technician (Copper & Fiber)
Location: Various Commercial Project Sites
Employment Type: W-2 Project-Based Contract
Schedule: Day Shift | Monday–Friday (Overtime may be available based on project requirements)

Position Overview
Tek One Solutions is seeking experienced Structured Cabling Technicians to support commercial construction, enterprise, healthcare, education, industrial, and data center projects. This position involves installing, terminating, testing, and troubleshooting copper and fiber optic cabling systems while maintaining high-quality workmanship and adhering to industry standards.
Successful candidates will have experience with commercial low-voltage installations and be comfortable working independently or as part of a team in active construction environments.
Primary Responsibilities
- Pull, route, and secure Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A, and fiber optic cabling
- Terminate copper cabling using RJ45 connectors, patch panels, and keystone jacks
- Terminate and test single-mode and multimode fiber optic cabling
- Install and dress cable within racks, cabinets, ladder rack, basket tray, conduit, and J-hooks
- Build and organize MDFs and IDFs
- Install, label, and test patch panels, fiber enclosures, and network hardware
- Mount and connect wireless access points (WAPs), IP cameras, network devices, and other low-voltage equipment
- Perform cable certification and testing using Fluke testers, OTDRs, or other approved testing equipment
- Read blueprints, floor plans, riser diagrams, and cable schedules
- Maintain accurate labeling, documentation, and test results
- Troubleshoot copper and fiber connectivity issues
- Follow OSHA safety requirements and maintain a clean work environment
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience with commercial structured cabling installations
- Experience pulling and terminating Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A, and/or fiber optic cabling
- Ability to terminate RJ45 connectors and punch down patch panels
- Basic understanding of network infrastructure and cable management
- Ability to read construction drawings and cable schedules
- Reliable transportation
- Strong work ethic, attendance, and attention to detail

Preferred Certifications
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
- BICSI Installer or Technician

- Lift Certifications (project dependent)
