Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and dependable Facilities Maintenance Technician to support multiple Montessori school campuses. This position is responsible for maintaining safe, clean, and attractive learning environments for children and staff. The ideal candidate will have strong skills in building maintenance, playground upkeep, irrigation systems, and minor construction projects, and be able to work independently while managing priorities across several locations.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance on school buildings, classrooms, and grounds.
- Diagnose and repair plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting, and general maintenance issues.
- Maintain and repair playground equipment and outdoor learning environments to ensure safety and compliance.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair irrigation and sprinkler systems.
- Complete minor construction and renovation projects, including installation of fixtures, doors, fencing, shelving, floors, and outdoor structures.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies.
- Assist with campus improvement projects during school breaks and summer months.
- Travel between multiple campuses as needed.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in facilities maintenance, construction, or a related trade.
- Strong knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, drywall repair, and general building systems.
- Experience maintaining playground equipment, irrigation systems, and exterior grounds.
- Ability to independently diagnose problems and prioritize work.
- Experience using hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Valid driver's license with reliable transportation.
- HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or other trade certifications are a plus.
- Experience working in schools, childcare facilities, or commercial properties is preferred.
