Job Summary:
We are hiring a skilled, safety-first Heavy Haul Truck Driver, with CDL Class A license and clean MVR, to transport our fleet of heavy construction equipment and mobile crushing plants (including Impact, Jaw Crushers and Excavators) to job sites throughout New Jersey. You must be highly experienced with lowboy trailers, multi-axle configurations, and loading/unloading oversized tracked machinery.
- As-Needed Equipment Operation: Serve as a backup operator, occasionally running excavators or wheel loaders to feed the crushers, manage stockpiles, or relieve primary operators during breaks.
- Ground & Site Support: Help the crew with basic site setup, equipment maintenance, and ground tasks during periods when no hauling is required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Heavy Hauling: Safely transport heavy equipment, mobile crushers, screeners, and excavators to changing project locations within NJ.
- Loading & Securing: Independently drive/walk heavy tracked machinery onto lowboy trailers; properly chain, bind, and secure oversized loads according to DOT regulations.
- Permit & Route Compliance: Read, understand, and strictly follow NJDOT oversize/overweight permit provisions, specific route restrictions, and curfew hours.
- Equipment Inspections: Complete thorough pre-trip and post-trip commercial vehicle inspections (DVIR), maintaining meticulous logs.
Qualifications:
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
- Minimum 2+ years of verified experience hauling oversized/overweight loads on lowboy trailers.
- Experience loading and walking tracked heavy machinery (crushers, excavators) onto trailers.
- Reliable, self-motivated, and capable of navigating tight New Jersey construction site sites.
Position Type: Full-time (Local/Regional travel within NJ)
Compensation: Starting at $35.00/hour, with higher rates commensurate with qualifications and experience.
