About the Role
We are seeking a proactive IT Business Analyst to serve as a key liaison between our fund office departments and IT. In this role, you won’t just oversee project timelines, you will be a hands-on contributor, actively driving project execution by completing assigned tasks and managing deliverables for our Taft-Hartley benefit plans. Your work will directly ensure the accuracy of eligibility data and the efficiency of systems supporting health, pension, and annuity benefits.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze & Visualize: Conduct data validation and discrepancy analysis using SQL to ensure data accuracy and integrity; analyze trends and support decision-making through well-structured reports and dashboards.
- Bridge the Gap: Translate business needs into functional specifications and technical concepts into "business-friendly" language for leadership and stakeholders.
- System Optimization: Interpret complex plan rules to configure benefit systems, maintain rule engines, and recommend automation opportunities.
· Hands-On Project Execution: Actively perform assigned project tasks and deliverables while facilitating daily project activities. This includes managing documentation, tracking tasks in project management tools, and supporting change management through training materials and communication plans
Qualifications
- Experience: 3-5 years as a Business Analyst, ideally in benefits administration, healthcare, or union trust fund settings.
- Technical Skills: 1+ year(s) of SQL experience, Python, JavaScript and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to provide excellent customer service and present findings to governance committees.
- Compliance: Familiarity with ERISA and HIPAA requirements is a plus.
Work Environment & Schedule
- This is an on-site position in an office setting.
- Regular overtime is required and considered an essential function of the position.
- Minimal travel may be required for business-related events or seminars.
