Your impact

As a Lighting Designer based in San Diego, California , you’ll support the delivery of innovative building and transportation projects through high-quality lighting design and electrical documentation.
In this role, you’ll collaborate with architects, engineers, and design professionals to develop lighting solutions that enhance functionality, safety, and user experience. You’ll create and coordinate design drawings using industry-standard software, contributing to projects from concept through design development while maintaining quality, accuracy, and project schedules.
What you’ll do
Develop lighting design and construction drawings for building and transportation projects
Create and coordinate MEP documentation with architectural and engineering teams
Produce design deliverables using Revit, AutoCAD, and MicroStation
Perform lighting calculations and analyses using AGI32
Support project teams with design coordination and technical documentation
Ensure drawing quality, accuracy, and compliance with project requirements
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver successful project outcomes
Here's what you'll need
Bachelor’s degree in Lighting Design, Architecture, Architectural Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Interior Design, or a related design or engineering discipline
Experience preparing construction documents in Revit
Experience using AGI32 for lighting analysis and design
Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Ideally, you’ll also have
Working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or MicroStation
Experience collaborating with architects, interior designers, and lighting designers
Experience in electrical design, with an emphasis on lighting design
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
Experience supporting multidisciplinary project teams and coordinating design efforts across disciplines

The base salary range for this position is $70,900.00 to $110,000.00; though will be paid hourly based on hours worked. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
