I want to find a solid, reliable, upbeat individual who likes knocking out tasks throughout the workday while delivering all-star level client service and communication to our office. I'm looking for a person with the right attitude, enjoys working with families, and a great sense of organization. We would prefer someone with previous estate planning and probate experience, but we are willing to train the right person.
You may be wondering, what is the job, and what would a day look like?
Our small law office is looking for a full time paralegal to handle estate planning and probate work for the families that we serve. This position is in-office (during normal business hours). Here's what you might do in a day:
- Meeting with families to explain their estate planning/probate documents
- Perform data entry, proofreading, editing, and preparing estate planning documents for clients to sign
- Proofreading, editing, and preparing probate paperwork for clients to sign
- Preparing financial paperwork to coordinate clients' accounts with their estate plan (mostly trust funding work)
- Follow up with clients and their financial professionals, answer questions, etc.
- Serve as the facilitator for our estate planning workflow and processes to make sure everything is done on time and in the proper manner
- Oversee the bettering of the systems in the business (you will be encouraged to bring fresh ideas to the table to improve our operations)
- Collaborating with the rest of the staff on ways a way to improve a current process or to make an upcoming event more exciting
We are The Rosenbauer Law Office, LLC, a small estate planning/probate/estate settlement firm that is growing and needs help serving our community.
You will be a great fit for this job if you...
- Take pride in making sure everything looks good and runs smoothly
- Are a reader of books who loves learning (we are all "forever learners")
- Are extremely detail oriented (some would call us OCD)
- Have an open mind or a blank slate about how business should be done
- Prioritize having a principled workplace where you are encouraged to get better every week over just coasting along for a paycheck
- Enjoy interaction with clients (both on the phone and in person). We are looking for a professional with good people skills who is comfortable dealing with clients from all walks of life.
- Have a generally positive mindset (I know that everyone has slumps, but you should characterize yourself as someone who sees the glass as half-full)
- Were the type of person in high school, college, and/or previous workplaces who could wear more than one hat when needed and was often the person handling more work than others on the team (even if you didn't always get credit for it)
- Are quick to uncover details that were missed and can quickly help solve the problem
You will NOT be a good fit for this job if you...
- Need to be micromanaged, because that's just not how we operate
- Want to just check the boxes each day and go home
- Will see something that needs to be fixed, but choose to ignore it or pretend you didn't notice
- Get involved in drama, gossip, or negative attitudes
- Are constantly checking Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc. and can't live without your phone always by your side
I'm so excited to bring on a new team member to help us keep the office organized, on task, and on time.
PLEASE FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS EXACTLY:
Send your resume and a cover letter in your response. Please note that if you don't include a cover letter, your application will not be considered.

- What is different about you? Seriously, what is different? (Example: Don't just tell me you're really organized. Or you have kept a daily diary for the last 15 years and have only missed one entry in that time. It can be as out there as you want!)
