Job Overview
The City of Bellefontaine is seeking a dependable, customer-service-oriented individual to serve as a Part-Time Parking Control Officer. This position plays an important role in supporting public safety and ensuring compliance with City parking regulations throuth out the community.
The Parking Control Officer patrols designated parking areas, enforces City parking ordinances, issues parking citations when necessary, and provides informaton and assistance to residents and visitors. This position works independently in the field and requires professionalism, sound judgement, and strong communication skills.
Duties
- Patrol city streets and parking areas to enforce parking regulations.
- Observe, monitor, and document vehicle parking activity.
- Issue parking citations for ordinance violations.
- Assist and provide information to the public regarding parking regulations and city sevices.
- Maintain accurate records and reports.
- Coordinate with City departments as needed.
- Perform duties in a professional and courteous manner while interacting with the public.
Experience
- Previous experience in law enforcement, security, or a customer service role is preferred but not mandatory
- Strong conflict management skills with the ability to handle challenging situations professionally
- Knowledge of parking regulations, safety protocols, and basic law enforcement procedures is advantageous
- Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods while maintaining alertness and professionalism
