Position Summary We are hiring a full-time Lube Technician to perform routine vehicle maintenance services in accordance with dealership and manufacturer standards. This is an entry-level position — no prior experience is required. We will train the right person.
Essential Duties
- Perform work as outlined on repair orders with efficiency and accuracy in accordance with dealership and factory standards
- Sell and recommend lubrication, safety inspection, and related services
- Maintain records on regular customers, following up periodically via phone, mail, or personal reminders
- Drain engine oil and refill with the required amount and grade
- Replace oil and air filters
- Inspect and replenish vehicle fluid levels as necessary
- Check tire pressure and inflate as needed
- Lubricate moving parts with specified lubricants
- Communicate with parts department to obtain needed parts
- Report machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor promptly
- Document all work performed on the repair order
- Participate in manufacturer-sponsored training programs as assigned
- Keep abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins
- Ensure customer vehicles are kept clean; notify service advisor immediately of any changes to a vehicle's appearance or condition
- Keep shop area neat and clean
- Maintain and be accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals; return them to their proper place and in the same condition as received
- Understand and comply with federal, state, and local regulations including hazardous waste disposal
- Operate all tools and equipment in a safe manner
- Report any safety issues immediately to management
- Additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- No prior experience or training required — we will train the right person
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required
- Ability to safely operate hand and power tools
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to stand for prolonged periods per shift
- Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and reaching
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Work environment includes exposure to noise, vehicle fluids, and cleaning solutions
