About the Role
As a Lead Electrical Systems Engineer, you will serve as the primary technical authority for complex utility-scale battery energy storage projects. You will drive the successful delivery of grid-modernization initiatives by overseeing end-to-end electrical design, system integration, and grid interconnection strategies.
Responsibilities-
Direct the electrical design lifecycle, from initial conceptualization through final commissioning for large-scale energy storage assets.

Develop and refine critical electrical documentation, including one-line diagrams, protection coordination schemes, and grounding configurations.

Manage technical integration of SCADA and EMS systems to ensure seamless communication and operational efficiency.

Collaborate with cross-functional utility teams, EPC partners, and OEMs to maintain project timelines and safety standards.

Identify and mitigate potential technical risks throughout the construction and performance validation phases.

Provide expert guidance during the transition from project completion to long-term operational handoff.
Qualifications-
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related technical discipline.

8+ years of professional experience with a focus on Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).

Demonstrated history of working within an electric utility environment.

Proven ability to lead multiple high-impact, large-scale projects simultaneously.

Active Professional Engineer (PE) license.

Deep expertise in utility-scale renewable integration, including solar and wind storage combinations.

Comprehensive understanding of industry standards such as UL 9540/9540A, NFPA 855, IEEE 1547, and NEC Article 706.
