Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Assistant Superintendent to join our construction management team. Duties
- Assist in developing and maintaining detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 and other construction scheduling tools to ensure timely project completion.
- Coordinate daily construction activities on-site, supervising crews, subcontractors, and vendors to uphold safety, quality, and efficiency standards.
- Review and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to facilitate accurate execution of construction tasks.
- Monitor adherence to federal and local construction safety regulations, including OSHA standards, conducting regular safety inspections and enforcing protocols.
- Manage project documentation such as contracts, change orders, RFIs (Requests for Information), and submittals using construction management software like ProCore and Bluebeam.
- Oversee quality control processes by inspecting work progress, conducting tests with tools such as ohmmeters when necessary, and ensuring compliance with design specifications.
- Collaborate with project managers to coordinate construction schedules, manage budgets, and resolve on-site issues promptly.
- Supervise team members effectively by providing clear managerial communication, managing crew assignments, and fostering a productive work environment.
- Conduct regular reviews of construction drawings for accuracy and clarity to prevent delays or errors during execution.
- Support project closeout procedures including final inspections, punch lists, and documentation for client handover.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in heavy civil or commercial construction management roles with a minimum of 3–5 years of site supervision experience.
- Proficiency with construction management software such as Primavera P6, Primavera P3, ProCore, Bluebeam Revu, HeavyBid, and other relevant tools.
- Strong knowledge of construction regulations including OSHA standards and federal safety regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints accurately.
- Experience managing multiple teams on large-scale projects with a focus on safety, quality control, and schedule adherence.
- Excellent managerial communication skills to effectively coordinate between field teams, subcontractors, clients, and project stakeholders.
- Familiarity with budgeting processes and managing project costs within established financial parameters.
- Construction safety certification (such as OSHA 30-hour or higher) is required; additional certifications related to heavy civil or commercial projects are preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents; experience with Ohmmeters or similar testing tools is advantageous.
- Strong organizational skills combined with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
