WT Equipment is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Technician to join our team. In this role, you will support accurate and timely payroll processing for employees across multiple departments for four locations while helping maintain compliance with company policies and payroll regulations. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and comfortable working with confidential information in a dealership environment.
Key Responsibilities for the Payroll Technician role:
· Process weekly or biweekly payroll accurately and on schedule.
· Review timecards, hours worked, overtime, and leave balances for completeness and accuracy.
· Enter payroll changes including new hires, terminations, pay rate updates, deductions, and garnishments.
· Respond to employee questions regarding pay, deductions, timekeeping, and payroll records.
· Maintain payroll files / reporting and employee personnel records while protecting confidential employee information.
· Assist with payroll reconciliations, audits, year-end reporting, and compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.
· Work closely with Human Resources, accounting, and dealership managers to resolve discrepancies and support smooth payroll operations.
· Help ensure payroll processes align with dealership procedures and seasonal workforce needs common in the agriculture industry.
Qualifications for the Payroll Technician role:
· High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in accounting, business, or a related field preferred.
· 1-3 years of payroll, bookkeeping, accounting, or administrative support experience.
· Knowledge of payroll practices, timekeeping systems, and basic wage and hour compliance.
· Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
· Ability to manage deadlines and handle sensitive information with discretion.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, payroll, AI knowledge/experience, and HRIS software.
· Strong communication and customer service skills.
Preferred Qualifications for the Payroll Technician role:
· Experience in a dealership, agriculture, equipment, manufacturing, or multi-location business environment.
· Familiarity with commission, incentive, or seasonal payroll processing.
· Understanding of benefits deductions, 401(k) administration, and payroll tax reporting.
