Overview
This is a part-time position with a full-time possibility. Wage will depend on availability and experience. Kennel Assistants are responsible for providing our boarding animals and daycare friends with a safe, clean, and fun environment!
Responsibilities:
- Provide daily care for animals in the kennel, including feeding, watering, and cleaning
- Monitor the health and well-being of animals and report any concerns
- Handle dogs of various sizes and temperaments safely and effectively
- Provide exercise and playtime for dogs in outdoor areas
- Administer medications as directed
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kennel facilities
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in animal care or a related field is preferred
- Strong customer service skills to interact with pet owners effectively
- Ability to handle dogs of all sizes and temperaments with confidence and care
- Familiarity with basic dog training principles is beneficial
- Comfortable with heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) for tasks such as moving supplies or restraining animals
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime as needed
Requirements:
- Ability to walk and stand for extended periods.
- Ability to work outdoors in hot and cold weather.
- Ability to follow management instructions.
