Overview

Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture (blood sampling) using proper technique to collect specimens from patients of all ages.
- Prepare and process laboratory specimens accurately, ensuring proper labeling, storage, and documentation.
- Assist laboratory staff with routine procedures, including specimen processing, equipment calibration, and maintenance.
- Monitor vital signs and patient condition during sample collection to ensure comfort and safety.
- Follow strict aseptic techniques to prevent contamination during specimen collection and handling.
- Maintain detailed records of all procedures performed, including patient information and sample details.
- Support patient care activities by providing compassionate service, explaining procedures clearly, and addressing patient concerns professionally.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in laboratory procedures, techniques, or clinical laboratory work.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and blood sampling methods such as venipuncture.
- Certification or training in phlebotomy is highly preferred; relevant hospital or healthcare experience is a plus.
- Basic life support (BLS) certification or CPR certification required to ensure patient safety during procedures.
- Familiarity with laboratory equipment operation and aseptic techniques essential for maintaining sample integrity.
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely when handling supplies or specimens; good physical stamina required.
- Excellent patient service skills with a caring attitude and clear communication abilities.
