Responsibilities
- Assist clients in selecting high-end eyewear by understanding their needs, preferences, and lifestyle requirements.
- Conduct precise eyewear fittings, adjustments, and frame modifications to ensure optimal comfort and appearance.
- Dispense spectacle lenses accurately, utilizing laboratory experience and optical knowledge to recommend suitable lens types.
- Provide exceptional customer service by educating clients on eyewear options, lens features, and proper care techniques.
- Operate POS systems and cash registers efficiently while managing retail transactions with accuracy.
- Maintain detailed medical records and ensure clinical confidentiality policies are strictly followed in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with optical laboratories to oversee lens fabrication, frame adjustments, and quality control processes.
- Stay informed about current health regulation policies, medical coding standards, and clinic procedures related to ophthalmology and optometry practices.
- Support clinic operations by monitoring vital signs when necessary and adhering to aseptic techniques during fittings or repairs.
- Promote retail sales through product knowledge, upselling premium eyewear collections, and engaging in targeted marketing initiatives.
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of ophthalmology, optics, and anatomy relevant to eye care professionals.
- Proven retail sales experience within the optical or healthcare industry with a focus on luxury products.
- Strong laboratory experience related to spectacle lens dispensing and eyewear frame adjustment.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for managing electronic medical records securely.
- Understanding of health regulation policies including HIPAA compliance, state healthcare regulations, and clinical confidentiality policies.
- Proficiency in medical terminology pertinent to ophthalmology and optometry practices.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations for retail transactions, insurance billing, and inventory management.
- Experience operating POS systems and cash registers efficiently in a retail environment.
