Regulatory Affairs Supervisor

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Regulatory Affairs Supervisor to lead our Regulatory Department and ensure compliance with domestic and international regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food, flavor, chemical, or related manufacturing industries and experience supervising regulatory personnel.
This position will oversee regulatory compliance, product labeling, certifications, supplier documentation, and regulatory support while partnering with Quality, R&D, Operations, and EHS teams to maintain the highest standards of product safety and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and mentor the Regulatory Affairs team.
- Provide regulatory guidance for products, ingredients, and intended end use.
- Review supplier documentation and regulatory records for compliance.
- Maintain and verify regulatory data within company databases.
- Review formulas, technical documentation, and product labels for regulatory compliance.
- Ensure compliance with FDA, USDA, TTB, IFRA, FEMA GRAS, Prop 65, and applicable international regulations.
- Manage Kosher, Halal, Organic, and other certification processes.
- Review and approve Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and regulatory documentation.
- Assist with product registrations and international regulatory requirements.
- Respond to customer and regulatory inquiries.
- Monitor changes to regulatory requirements and communicate updates internally.
- Participate in audits and support continuous compliance initiatives.
- Act as department lead in the absence of the Regulatory Affairs Manager.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Food Science, or a related scientific field.
- 3-5 years of Regulatory Affairs experience in the food, flavor, chemical, or related manufacturing industry.
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience required.
- Experience with Halal, Kosher, and Organic certifications preferred.
- Knowledge of international regulations and TTB requirements is a plus.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, Outlook, ERP systems, and regulatory databases.
