Position Summary:
The Field Service Technician is responsible for the delivery, setup, maintenance, and support of home oxygen equipment for Veterans receiving care through the Wilmington VA Medical Center contract. This includes scheduled visits, preventive maintenance, emergency response, after-hours on-call service, and thorough documentation of all patient interactions and equipment service activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contact each assigned patient in advance to schedule service visits. Document all contact attempts and interactions per company policy.
- Deliver, install, inspect, and maintain home oxygen and respiratory equipment in accordance with manufacturer specifications, Eagle Home Medical standards, and VA contract requirements.
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and safety checks on all equipment to ensure reliability and compliance.
- Maintain timely and accurate documentation of service activities, patient encounters, expenses, and equipment reports. Submit records per supervisor directives.
- Respond promptly and professionally to patient calls and after-hours service needs as part of the on-call rotation.
- Maintain the company vehicle in accordance with operational and regulatory standards. Keep an adequate inventory of supplies and equipment for patient servicing.
- Report any incidents involving patients, caregivers, or equipment to the Site Manager immediately.
- Adhere to all Eagle Home Medical policies, VA guidelines, and applicable safety and infection control regulations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support patient safety and operational excellence.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Strong communication skills and a customer-first mindset.
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently in the field.
- Willingness to participate in on-call after-hours service rotation.
- Commitment to serving Veterans with dignity, respect, and professionalism.
- Must possess or obtain all required certifications and pass background and motor vehicle checks.
