Job Summary
The Floor Manager is responsible for supporting the Sales Department in meeting or exceeding daily, weekly, monthly etc. goals and targets. The Floor Manager is responsible for establishing personal performance goals for each member of the department, and providing motivation and / or training to support them in reaching those goals. S/He will be tasked with devising strategies to capitalize on the skills and abilities of the sales team, and work with the General Manager / Sales Manager to create a sale-oriented sales force.
The Floor Manager will be responsible for managing daily operations within the department including CRM usage, follow up protocols, and the general organization, appearance, and cleanliness of the department and the inventory. The Assistant Sales Manager will also step in and complete deals based on the company’s standards for gross profit and F&I in the Sales Manager’s absence and as needed (once trained).
Key Result Areas for the Floor Manager
1. Achieve / exceed communicated goals and ratios by training, measuring, and coaching Fit Specialists in working toward these goals.
2. The Unit Sales performance of the Sales Department.
3. The ability to meet or exceed the Gross Profit Margin, F&I Average, and CSI Goals set by Management.
4. Maximize productivity by providing insight and direction/training for Sales staff to create memorable customer relationships that will produce more sales. Provide training on building relationships, identifying customer needs, and making expert suggestions to sales prospects.
5. Seamlessly cover the General Manager / Sales Manager in their absence, ensuring policies and processes continue to be followed.
PART III – JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Principle Activities Include
1. Ensure all tasks are completed with Motorcycle Sales in mind. Training, strategizing, and daily completion of tasks should be focused on Vehicle Sales.
2. Supervise daily department operations, and ensure achievement of all productivity and sales targets. Coordinate with General Manager / Sales Manager to facilitate strategic solutions to enhance store’s profit in a collaborative environment.
3. Ensure adherence to all company procedures, policies, and deadlines, and monitor store inventory to meet or exceed projected sales and profit goals. Aid the General Manager / Sales Manager in managing inventory levels in accordance with company guidelines.
4. Manage Salesperson communication with existing clients to maintain long term relationships. Establish performance goals for each Sales staff member that are consistent with company standards of productivity, and devise a strategy to meet those goals.
5. Engage in Performance Management with sales staff by reviewing and analyzing actions at the end of each day (Daily Productivity Reports), week, month, and year to determine how to better utilize resources, and capitalize on each customer’s potential to make a purchase.
6. Maintain good professional relationships and design communication strategies for the sales team to follow with customers, and retention strategies to bring “lost customers” back.
7. Develop strategies for Sales Staff members to achieve personal sales targets, and motivate and / or provide training to associates to optimize sales performance.
8. Guide Sales Staff by reinforcing the department’s sales strategies and processes as decided by Management.
9. Help salespeople close deals, and prepare, and execute F&I paperwork when General Sales Manager is not on duty. Ensure deals are closed to the same company standards despite the Sales Manager’s absence.
10. Interact well with others and be a positive influence on employee morale, and customer experience
11. Assist GSM with procurement, reconditioning, advertising, and positioning of used bike inventory to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction, while reducing the risks involved with selling used vehicles.
12. Ensure the dealership vehicles displayed are kept clean, and that vehicles are displayed in an organized fashion. Work with the General Manager / Sales Manager to design a constantly evolving store image that creates a comfortable, productive sales environment that will produce sales, and maximize profits.
13. Assist with store opening and closing responsibilities, with the understanding that this position is not a Monday – Friday 9am-6pm position.
