American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical/Surgical (Planned Surgery) travel assignment at a Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma teaching hospital in Washington state, requiring night shift availability and a minimum of 2 years of experience.

Medical/Surgical unit focused on planned surgery cases in a large 500-bed Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma academic teaching hospital

Patient ratios of 1:4–5

Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)

Every other weekend required, with flexibility needed based on departmental needs
-
No on-call requirements

Travelers will be prioritized for floating within scope to meet facility needs

Block scheduling is not available

Charting via Epic (hard stop — system access required)
-
Local candidates are accepted at the same rate with no radius restriction
-
Active WA RN license or Compact RN license (pending licenses are not accepted)

Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
-
Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg RN experience required

At least 2 travel assignments beyond initial hospital experience preferred

Teaching hospital and trauma hospital experience preferred

COVID vaccination and booster required — no exceptions

2 professional references required within the last year (1 manager and 1 charge RN or above)

First-time travelers will be considered with strong, relevant experience

RTO may not be requested during orientation week and should be kept to a minimum; no more than 6 days total

Prior UW Health System staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 18 months before being eligible to return as a traveler

Scrubs may be any solid color; light blue scrubs are also provided on the unit

Onsite parking is available for a daily fee; an offsite parking option is also available at a reduced rate via a 10-minute shuttle (weekdays only, 5am–10pm, not available nights, weekends, or holidays)
