Job Overview
We are seeking a creative and experienced Lead Line Cook to join our family oriented team. We are looking for someone who can run the show in the kitchen when we are away from the restaurant. The Nook is a very close knit family type restaurant and we are looking for someone personable who will get along with both employees and customers.
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate the food preparation process, ensuring all dishes meet quality standards and presentation expectations
- Supervise line cooks and kitchen staff, providing guidance on cooking techniques, safety procedures, and efficiency improvements
- Oversee food safety sanitizing procedures and ensure compliance with health regulations at all times
- Prepare a variety of menu items with skillful techniques
- Assist in menu planning by suggesting new dishes and specials
- Manage high-volume production while maintaining consistency, speed, and attention to detail during busy service hours
- Ensure proper food handling practices are followed to prevent cross-contamination and uphold food safety management standards
Skills
- Culinary experience with a focus on quick breakfast and lunch without sacrificing quality
- Proficiency in food preparation techniques
- Knife skills with an ability to execute precise cuts and preparations
- Experience in menu planning, meal preparation, catering, and food service operations
