Front Office duties include, but are not limited to:
- This individual is the key leader on the administrative/front part of the office
- Opportunity to work independently and create streamlined and efficient processes to ensure optimum patient experience
- Greeting patients and ensuring that all needed information is accurately entered in the computer for a seamless patient experience.
- Answering phones; scheduling patients; understanding and accurately processing prior-authorizations and referrals.
- Following up so that patients are taken care of with care and efficiency.
- Helping to coordinate patient flow with team members, so patients leave happy and clearly understand their next steps.
- Calling insurance companies to resolve billing and processing problems
- Maintaining up to date knowledge of medical terminology
- Prior authorization submittal, review and sign off as necessary
- Updating patient insurance information and understanding of patient benefits
- Accurate and timely posting payments
- Interacting with patients in a compassionate and upbeat manner at all times and a proven ability to handle challenging interactions in a composed manner
Requirements and Preferences:
· Prior medical office experience, ophthalmology or vision experience; preferred
· Experience with Nextech programs- Practice + and Intellechart- given strong preference and incremental pay consideration
· High school diploma or equivalent; required, AA or BS degree; preferred
· Must have previous customer service experience
· Able to prioritize, and manage time efficiently
· Self-motivated and self-directed with the ability to work autonomously
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
