Primary Responsibilities:

To supervise and organize a fun, safe environment for member children to participate in programs here at the Club

To help children grow socially and intellectually through the guidance of their leadership

To assist in the creative process of determining the activities that make up our Programs
General Responsibilities to the Company:

To uphold the values to the Junior Program Department

Be available to other departments with their programming as well as club wide programming

Partcipate in all mandatory staff meetings, both within the department adn for all employees of Thoreau
Job Qualifications:

Must have a desire to work with children and an unconditional commitment to the Junior Program Department

Ability to handle responsibility and be a leader
-
Prior experience with children
-
Experience in community service, after school programs, sports programs, or student leadership
Direct Responsibilities:
-
Program Supervision Lead and supervise small groups of children, of varying age, in various sports, crafts, and recreational activities according to the curriculum created by the Junior Programs Department Director. Maintain the schedule of when the children are dropped into the program and when the children are checked out of the program.

Birthday Party Supervision-Lead and supervise all of the activities involved in a Birthday Party at The Thoreau Club. This includes: setting up, maintaining and cleaning the party room, checking in the party guests, running the activities that the parent/guardian has chosen (this may include outdoor supervision, pool supervision, and various other recreational event supervision), preparing any and all of the necessary supplies that Thoreau provides (balloons, matches, cake knife, etc), and completing the staff and member evaluation forms at the end of each party.

Administrative-Junior Program staff may be asked to assist in some office functions for both the Junior Programs and the Club as a whole
