The Scalehouse Operator is responsible for managing inbound and outbound truck scale operations, ensuring accurate documentation of weights, shipments, and inventory transactions. This role serves as a key point of contact for drivers, customers, and operations staff while maintaining efficient traffic flow and compliance with company procedures and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities

Operate truck scale systems and accurately record inbound and outbound weights

Verify load information, shipping documents, purchase orders, and delivery tickets

Enter and maintain data within ERP, inventory, and scale software systems

Coordinate with production, logistics, dispatch, and warehouse teams regarding shipments and deliveries

Direct truck drivers to appropriate loading and unloading locations

Generate scale tickets, bills of lading, and other shipping documentation

Monitor inventory movements and report discrepancies or issues to management

Answer phones, assist customers and drivers, and provide general administrative support

Maintain organized records and filing systems for shipments and transactions

Ensure compliance with company policies and safety procedures
Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required

Previous experience in scalehouse, logistics, shipping/receiving, transportation, or administrative support preferred

Strong data entry and computer skills, including Microsoft Office and ERP systems

Excellent organizational and communication skills

Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment

Ability to work independently and collaboratively with operations teams
