Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our finance team. In this pivotal role, you will lead complex accounting functions, ensure financial accuracy, and uphold compliance with industry standards. Duties
- Manage general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end closing processes.
- Oversee accounts payable functions, including invoice processing, vendor payments, and automation initiatives to streamline workflows.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements using advanced Excel data analysis techniques, including formulas and VLOOKUP functions.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and internal controls such as SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act).
- Utilize financial software such as Workday, QuickBooks, Sage, PeopleSoft, ADP, Kronos, UltiPro, Ceridian, and HRIS systems for accurate data entry and reporting.
- Conduct detailed account reconciliation and variance analysis to identify discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
- Support audit processes by providing documentation related to accounts receivable management, accounts payable automation, and general ledger activities.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information while handling data entry tasks with precision.
Experience
- Proven accounting experience with a strong foundation in double entry bookkeeping and financial concepts.
- Prior work in public accounting or corporate finance environments demonstrating expertise in accounting software and financial compliance.
- Extensive knowledge of accounting systems such as SAP PeopleSoft or equivalent platforms; proficiency in Excel spreadsheets for data analysis is essential.
- Familiarity with payroll systems like ADP or Kronos and HRIS platforms such as UltiPro or Ceridian is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to perform account reconciliation, journal entries, and analysis with attention to detail.
- Experience managing accounts payable processes including invoice processing and accounts payable automation tools.
- Strong understanding of internal controls related to SOX compliance and audit readiness.
