Experienced 5- Axis CNC Machinists.
We are seeking a skilled and experienced 5-Axis CNC Machine Operator to join our precision manufacturing team. A machinist who is ready to build a career and grow with us, someone who is prepared and excited to call Auburn, CA home. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience operating and maintaining Cutting Edge 5-axis machining centers. In this role, you’ll take on complex set-ups for high-precision parts and play a key role in keeping operations running smoothly and efficiently. Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate 5-axis CNC machines based on work orders, blueprints, and technical drawings.
- Load programs into machines using a Fanuc 31iMB control system.
- Perform machine setups, including:
- Loading fixtures and tools
- Selecting and loading the correct program
- Setting work coordinates and tool offsets
- Sizing in first article using measurement tools
- Use micrometers, calipers, gauges, and indicators to ensure parts meet strict specifications.
- Conduct cutting tool changes and adjust offsets to maintain dimensional accuracy and surface finish.
- Perform first article inspection (FAI), in-process checks, and final part verification using precision measuring instruments (3-D scanners, CMM machines, micrometers etc.).
- Read and interpret GD&T symbols and engineering drawings.
- Maintain accurate production and quality records.
- Troubleshoot machining issues, improve work fixtures and collaborate with programmers and engineers to optimize cutting strategies.
- Monitor quality per AS9100 requirements
- Follow all safety guidelines and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
Skill Requirements
- 5 to 7 years’ experience in advanced machining.
- Ability to read and understand CNC set-up sheets
- Hands-on experience with Fanuc 31iMB controls.
- Must be fluent in G & M code and proven ability trouble shoot programs.
- Knowledge of blueprint reading and shop math
- Follow CNC set-up sheet instructions
- Monitor quality per AS9100 requirements
- Ability to maintain close tolerances up to 0.0001 of an inch
Preferred:
- Experience in aerospace or high-precision industries.
- Familiarity with CAD/CAM software (Mastercam, NX, or similar).
- Knowledge of machine probing systems and Renishaw tools.
- Experience with pallet changers.
