The Health IT Applications Support Technician provides technical support for Health Services Division (HSD) applications and systems, including Electronic Health Records (EHR) platforms such as RPMS and NextGen. Responsibilities include maintaining and troubleshooting health IT infrastructure, assisting with software applications, supporting database models, and ensuring compliance with healthcare data security standards.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Provide first-line support for healthcare staff on EHR systems (RPMS, NextGen) and related applications.Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with computers, network hardware, healthcare software, and EHR platforms.Assist with installation, configuration, and maintenance of health IT systems, including hardware and software used in clinical workflows.Research, document, and resolve platform compatibility issues for healthcare applications.Support development and implementation of custom database models for health data management.Demonstrate and train staff on the use of EHR systems and other healthcare software.Manage user accounts for health applications: create, modify, and remove users; reset passwords; ensure proper access to clinical systems.Maintain data integrity and system security in compliance with HIPAA and tribal health IT policies.Generate reports and maintain documentation for system upgrades, maintenance, and troubleshooting.Respond to help desk calls from healthcare staff and provide timely resolution.Prepare user guides and process documentation for health IT applications.Perform other duties of a similar nature or level as requested by supervisor or director.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Associate of Science Degree in Computer Information Systems or Health Information Technology, or certificate from an accredited technical computer school with one (1) year experience in IT support in a healthcare setting; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with EHR systems such as RPMS and NextGen is required.A+ Certification preferred.Special Requirements: Must possess and maintain a valid Arizona Driver’s License.Must have a current Level 1 Arizona Clearance Card or be able to obtain one within ninety (90) days of hire. Failure to maintain a current Level 1 Clearance Card will result in termination from this position.Must be available for flexible scheduling, including evenings and weekends as required.Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook.
