NDCR is part of the Cristo Rey Network, a growing association of 40 schools across the United States whose education model is built around the Corporate Work Study Program (CWSP), a unique and highly successful partnership with the business community. Through the CWSP, each of our scholars works five full days per month during the academic year at one of 75 companies throughout the Merrimack Valley, I-93/495 corridors, and southern New Hampshire. This course is a study of the growth and development of the Catholic Church from the first followers of Jesus to the present day. Students will examine the development the institutional church, Christian theology, mission and ministry in its unique Catholic form.
Attention is given to the experiences of marginalized groups and how their stories strengthen our own understanding of the Good God.Grade 12 (one section)Fall Semester: Introduction to Catholic EthicsIn the Fall semester, students examine the foundations of ethical decision making and moral choices in their lives. Using the works of philosophers and theologians, students will explore the themes of conscience, morality, justice, and virtue to formulate what it means to live a good life rooted in faith and justice.Resources, materials, and support for all courses are provided. Other Responsibilities: Use developmentally and behaviorally age-appropriate tools, materials, activities Maintain all pertinent records in PowerSchool Create a safe, purposeful classroom environment that prioritizes learning for all studentsDesign and create appropriate lesson plans. Implement the Theology Curriculum aligned with the Cristo Rey Standards and USCCB framework Collaborate with other teachers, instructional leaders, and partners to ensure instruction is meeting the needs of all studentsAssess students regularly, analyze data, and determine appropriate next steps for instructionBuild relationships and communicate regularly with students and their families to solicit input and share academic progressMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Teachers must possess: 1)Bachelors degree in theology, campus ministry, or a related field, masters degree preferred 2)Must be a practicing Catholic.3)Experience teaching in a Catholic high school strongly preferred 4)Willingness to promote the vision and values of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur 5)Knowledgeable, sensitive, and inclusive of all cultures, particularly those served by NDCR Ability to speak Spanish a plusSALARY RANGE: The salary for this position ranges from $2,000.00 to 3,000.00, based on experience and educational qualifications.
