Role Overview
WWT is seeking an L2 Data Center Technician to support data center operations for a WWT customer. This role is responsible for hands-on hardware installation, maintenance, and support activities within a high-availability enterprise data center environment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and comfortable working in a physically demanding, fast-paced operations setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, rack, stack, cable, and decommission servers, networking equipment, and related hardware.
- Perform basic hardware troubleshooting and diagnostics on servers, GPUs, storage, and network devices.
- Monitor data center alerts and escalate issues as needed.
- Support inventory tracking, asset management, and documentation updates.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety standards within the data center environment.
- Assist with hardware refreshes, migrations, and infrastructure deployment projects.
- Follow operational procedures, change management, and security protocols.
Required Qualifications
- 0–2 years of experience in data center operations, IT support, or technical infrastructure environments.
- Basic understanding of server hardware, networking concepts, and cabling standards.
- Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs and work in a physically demanding environment.
- Strong attention to detail, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends as needed.
Pay: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour
