Description:
Primarily supports welders by preparing materials, cleaning the workspace, and performing basic tasksThey may cut, grind, and prepare metal for welding, ensuring the work area is safe and organized.
Key Responsibilities:
- Material Preparation:
- Cutting, grinding, and preparing metal for welding. This includes using saws, grinders, and other tools to shape and size metal pieces according to specifications.
- Shop Maintenance:
Maintaining a clean and organized workspace, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored and maintained.
Helping welders with tasks like setting up equipment, loading materials, and providing support as needed.Performing tasks according to instructions from supervisors or welders, ensuring work is completed accurately and efficiently.Adhering to safety regulations and procedures, wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and reporting any safety concerns.Inspecting completed work for quality and ensuring it meets specifications.Skills and Abilities:

- Attention to Detail: Accuracy in measuring, cutting, and preparing materials.
- Communication Skills: Following instructions and communicating any problems or issues to supervisors.
- Teamwork: Working effectively with welders and other tradespeople.
- Must pass Drug Screening and Background Check
