Primary Purpose:
Beeville ISD's Child Nutrition Department is seeking motivated Culinary Arts students to join our Summer Meals Program as Student Culinary Assistants. This role provides hands-on experience in food service operations, while supporting the district's mission to provide nutritious meals to children during the summer break.
This opportunity is designed to help students apply classroom knowledge in a real-world setting, gain industry-relevant skills, and contribute to a community-focused program.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Must be at least 16 years old and meet Texas Child Labor Laws and TEA student work guidelines.
Food Handlers Card
Interest in foodservice, culinary arts, hospitality, or public service.
Concurrently enrolled in the Culinary Arts or CTE program at AC Jones High School
Minimum GPA of 3.0
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics
Ability to work well with children
Ability to communicate effectively
Experience:
Some experience working in preparing & serving meals.
