Requirements include all ophthalmic technical skills in addition to competency in various imaging technologies:
OCT, Fundus Photography, IOL Master, Visual Fields, and Refraction. EMR use and data entry.
Additional responsibilities may include preoperative counseling, managing Rx authorizations, inventory, surgical coordination, phone triaging, and scheduling appointments. The ideal candidate must possess an ability to multi-task, lead, be a team player, adapt and relay a positive and compassionate attitude to the patients and staff.
Three years of healthcare experience involving direct patient care including some use and maintenance of specialized medical equipment with at least one year of the prior experience at the level of an Ophthalmic Technician, or a combination of related education and experience.
