We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Financial Controller on a part-time contractor basis. This role is ideal for a finance professional who thrives in a flexible environment and can bring strong accounting oversight, financial reporting, and operational finance expertise.
Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations and financial controls
- Prepare and review monthly financial statements and reports
- Manage cash flow forecasting and budgeting
- Ensure accuracy of bookkeeping, reconciliations, and general ledger activity
- Coordinate with external accountants, tax professionals, and auditors
- Develop and improve financial processes and reporting systems
- Monitor financial performance and provide strategic insights to leadership
- Support compliance with tax filings and regulatory requirements
- Assist with payroll oversight and contractor/vendor payments as needed
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in accounting, finance, or controllership roles
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
- Experience with small to mid-sized businesses preferred
- Proficiency in QuickBooks
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities efficiently
- CPA or equivalent financial certification is a plus
