Lincoln Land Community College’s new Learning Center is currently accepting applications for technical services student worker. This position supports the behind-the-scenes work that keeps our library collections accurate, organized, and ready for users to access.
Student Workers will perform the following duties:
- Check in periodicals in the library’s system.
- Process new materials to make them shelf-ready, and process withdrawn items, per established procedures
- Shelve materials and self-read assigned sections in Library of Congress call number order, reporting items that are out of order, missing, or in need of repair
- Assist with shifting, inventory, and other collections projects as directed
- Perform other duties as assigned.
All LLCC Student Workers have the following institutional responsibilities:
- Uphold LLCC’s mission, as well as certain standards of conduct within the College and in dealings with students, staff, faculty and the general public.
- Responsible for compliance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and other regulations with regard to confidentiality of and access to student and other institutional records.
Student workers will be paid minimum wage and scheduled to work, on average, 8-12 hours per week. ONLY students eligible for Federal Work Study will be considered for this position.
Requirements include the following:
- Must maintain satisfactory academic progress
- Must be enrolled at least half-time (6 credit hours) during the semester of employment, with the exception of summer term
- Complete LLCC’s mandatory harassment prevention training within 30 days of employment
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy; able to follow established procedures consistently
Physical requirements include the following:

Able to push loaded book carts, bend and reach shelves at varying heights, and lift library materials.
If working with minors, employment will be contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check.
