Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Pediatric Dental Assistant to join our vibrant dental team! Duties
- Assist the dentist during pediatric dental procedures, including exams, cleanings, X-rays, oral surgeries, endodontics, prosthodontics, and other treatments
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all dental equipment is functioning properly according to infection prevention management protocols
- Take and develop dental X-rays using digital imaging technology such as 3D scanners and dental x-ray machines while adhering to HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies
- Record detailed medical and dental histories, vital signs, and medical documentation in electronic medical record (EMR) systems like eaglesoft
- Manage patient flow by greeting families, verifying insurance information, scheduling appointments, and performing administrative duties as a dental receptionist when needed
- Maintain strict adherence to infection control standards through proper sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques in line with healthcare infection prevention policies
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices tailored for pediatric needs while demonstrating excellent communication skills using appropriate dental terminology
Skills
- Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft for accurate medical records management
- Knowledge of pediatric dentistry procedures and terminology to effectively assist during treatments
- Experience with dental sterilization procedures, infection prevention management, and aseptic techniques to ensure clinical safety
- Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners confidently such as Nomad Vatch and itero
- Strong understanding of anatomy knowledge relevant to pediatric patients along with general dentistry practices
- Excellent chairside assisting skills in four-handed dentistry setups for efficient patient care
- Healthcare infection prevention and control expertise to uphold safety standards in the clinic environment

Pay: $18.00 - $26.00 per hour
