Job Description
The Dietary Aide performs designated work and cleaning routines for the Dietary Department and is accountable to Director of Food Services.
Requirements:
- High School Graduate
- Dietary Experience preferred
- Ability to read, understand, and follow recipe directions, diet orders, tray cards, and work assignments
- Willingness to perform routine and repetitive tasks efficiently
- Numerical ability necessary for recipe preparation and proper measuring of cleaning agents and chemicals
- Good motor coordination and skills for work routines such as preparing food items, serving trays, handling soiled dishes, operating dietary equipment and work area
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds or more
- Must be able to withstand exposure to temperature and humidity changes when entering refrigerated storage areas or when working at oven ranges, dish washing machines, and at steam tables
- Flexible availability, including weekends
Job Duties:
- Provide assistance to the cook in the preparation and service of meals
- Meet scheduled meal and snack times
- Follow Federal and State long term care regulations and Dietary Department policies and procedures
- Follow cleaning schedules and perform cleaning duties as scheduled
- Assist in arranging tray cards ,loading food carts, and serving meals
- Wash and store dishes
- Follow established reporting procedures
- Assist in receiving and storing foods and supplies
- Attend In-Service educational programs
- Follow defined safety codes
- Follow defined Infection Control Procedures
- Understand Facility Emergency Preparedness Plans following established procedures during all drills and actual emergencies
- Perform other department duties as assigned by Director
