Responsibilities
- Install and configure telecommunications network cables, including fiber optic and low voltage wiring, in commercial settings.
- Use hand tools, wire crimpers, wire strippers, power tools, ladders, and electrical testing devices like ohmmeters to complete installations accurately.
- Perform fiber splicing, cable routing, and equipment testing to ensure high-quality connectivity and performance standards.
- Conduct field service activities including troubleshooting issues, repairing damaged cables or equipment, and performing routine maintenance.
- Operate company vehicles safely while adhering to all safety protocols during outdoor work environments.
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining system features, answering questions, and ensuring client satisfaction with installed services.
Skills
- Proven experience in network installation and telecommunications infrastructure work.
- Strong knowledge of computer networking concepts such as Ethernet wiring, telephony systems, and Cisco routers.
- Skilled in using hand tools like wire strippers, wire crimpers, power tools, and electrical testers for cable installation.
- Experience with fiber splicing techniques and telecommunications network cable installation procedures.
- Ability to operate equipment testing devices including Fluke testers to verify system integrity.
- Excellent customer service skills combined with the ability to work independently outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Valid driver’s license with experience operating company vehicles safely during field service tasks.
