DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL (DSP)
DAY & EVENING SHIFTS

$24.00-$27.00 per hour, depending on experience
My Choice Consulting LLC is seeking dependable, compassionate, and professional Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide individualized support to an adult receiving Supported Living Services (SLS).
AVAILABLE SHIFTS
SHIFT 1 - 7:00 AM-3:00 PM Monday, Wednesday and Sunday Days
SHIFT 2 - 7:00 AM-03:00 PM Tuesday and Saturday Days and Sunday Overnight Stay Awake
SHIFT 3 - AFTERNOON / EVENING: 3:00 PM-8:00 PM
SHIFT 4 - SUNDAY OVERNIGHT STAY AWAKE POSITION
Applicants may apply for one or all, depending on availability. Consistent weekly availability and dependable attendance are required.
PAID ON-DUTY MEAL PERIOD
All positions involves continuous direct-client supervision. Where legally applicable based on the nature of the assignment, the selected candidate may enter into a voluntary written On-Duty Meal Period Agreement.
The employee remains on duty and available to provide client supervision and support during the meal period.
The on-duty meal period is paid and counted as hours worked.
The agreement is voluntary and provided in writing.
The employee retains the right to revoke the agreement in writing in accordance with applicable California law and company policy.
If a required compliant meal period is not provided, any applicable meal-period premium compensation will be administered in accordance with California law.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide individualized direct support in the client's home and community.
Maintain appropriate client supervision and safety.
Support daily living and independent-living skills and structured daily routines.
Support community outings, appointments, exercise, and recreational activities.
Follow established behavioral and support protocols and use appropriate prompting, redirection, and positive reinforcement.
Assist with meal preparation and established meal guidelines.
Complete required daily documentation accurately and on time.
Communicate professionally with supervisors and members of the support team.
Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality.
Follow client-specific health, behavioral, safety, and emergency protocols.
PHYSICAL FITNESS & FUNCTIONAL COMPETENCY
This is an active, community-based direct-support position. Employees must be able to safely perform the essential physical functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Walk and remain on their feet for extended periods during community activities.
Accompany and support the client during exercise, recreational, and community-based activities.
Safely navigate stairs, sidewalks, parking lots, uneven surfaces, and community environments.
Bend, reach, squat, kneel, and change body position as required during routine support activities.
Respond promptly and safely when client supervision or an unexpected situation requires immediate movement.
Maintain the stamina necessary to complete the assigned shift and actively participate in scheduled activities.
Safely perform job-related physical tasks identified during training and competency assessment.
Successful completion of required physical and functional competency training or assessment is a condition of assignment to direct-support duties.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
Supported Living Services (SLS) or Direct Support Professional (DSP) experience.
Autism services, developmental disabilities, behavioral support, or ABA/RBT environments.
Community-based, residential, or other direct-care services.
REQUIREMENTS
Valid California driver's license and reliable transportation.
CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain.
Ability to complete required training and accurate daily documentation.
Professional verbal and written communication skills.
Reliable availability for the selected shift.
Ability to successfully complete required physical and functional competency training.
Must successfully obtain required California Department of Developmental Services (DDS) background clearance.
DDS BACKGROUND CLEARANCE - CONTINGENCY OF EMPLOYMENT
ANY OFFER OF EMPLOYMENT IS CONTINGENT UPON SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION AND APPROVAL OF THE REQUIRED DDS BACKGROUND CLEARANCE.
The selected candidate may not begin providing direct client services until all required clearance requirements have been satisfied. Failure to obtain required DDS clearance may result in withdrawal of the conditional employment offer.
COMPENSATION
$24.00-$27.00 PER HOUR
Compensation within the range will reflect relevant education, training, and directly applicable experience.
Candidates with substantial SLS, autism, behavioral-support, ABA, crisis-prevention, or RBT-level experience may qualify for the higher end of the range.
