We are looking to hire someone to work 15-20 hours per week for the following shift:
Pay is $23 per hour with potential for increase based on performance and experience. You will be paid through a local payroll service. Benefits include health insurance subsidy, paid time off, and time and a half pay on select holidays. This job is located in Suffield, CT.
We are looking for an experienced personal care assistant to support a college educated 33 year old with muscular dystrophy with all activities of daily life. If you’re a compassionate, positive person with a sense of humor who isn’t afraid to learn new things, then this is a job for you. We expect you to be polite and a good communicator. Experience working with clients with a ventilator and/or a Foley catheter will make you a strong candidate. Work takes place in the client’s home, which is a clean and safe environment. The client has a cat that is very friendly. Training will be provided.
Responsibilities
- Help with transfers using a ceiling lift
- Ensure client receives their medication
- Support client who can’t move on their own
- Help client dress, bathe, eat etc.
- Cook meals according to the customer’s restrictions
- Do necessary light housekeeping to maintain a clean environment
- Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency
- Breathing machine basics (BiPAP)
- Empty Foley catheter bag
