Overview
Join our dynamic manufacturing team as a CNC Machinist and become a vital contributor to precision machining operations that drive innovation and quality. In this role, you will operate, set up, and program CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines such as Haas lathes and milling machines to produce high-precision components. Your expertise in CNC programming, blueprint reading, and mechanical knowledge will ensure parts meet strict specifications and quality standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced manufacturing equipment, including Fanuc controls, CAD/CAM software, and precision measuring instruments, in a fast-paced environment dedicated to excellence.
Responsibilities
- Operate CNC milling machines and CNC lathes, ensuring accurate production of parts according to detailed blueprints and technical drawings.
- Program Haas CNC machines using CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software and adjust existing programs for optimal performance.
- Read and interpret complex blueprints, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and technical specifications to produce precise components.
- Set up tooling, fixtures, and calibration devices such as bore gauges, micrometers, calipers, and coordinate measuring machines to ensure measurement accuracy.
- Perform routine machine maintenance, troubleshoot issues with electrical discharge machining (EDM), tooling, or machine controls like Fanuc systems.
- Conduct quality inspections using precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions and tolerances throughout the manufacturing process.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols; operate hand tools, power tools, forklifts, and welding equipment as needed for assembly or setup tasks.
- Support lean manufacturing initiatives by identifying opportunities for process improvements and waste reduction in machining workflows.
Experience
- Proven experience operating CNC milling machines and CNC lathes in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of CNC programming languages such as G-code or M-code; experience with CAM programming is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with blueprint reading, GD&T principles, and mechanical drawings for precise part fabrication.
- Hands-on experience with electrical discharge machining (EDM), plastics injection molding processes, and welding techniques is a plus.
- Proficiency using precision measurement tools including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, dial indicators, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
- Basic math skills necessary for calculating dimensions, tolerances, feeds, speeds, and machine settings.
- Knowledge of CAD software like SolidWorks or general CAD design principles enhances your ability to interpret designs effectively.
- Ability to operate CNC controls such as Fanuc systems confidently; familiarity with machine troubleshooting is beneficial.
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude combined with a strong commitment to safety standards in a fast-paced manufacturing setting. Join us if you’re passionate about precision engineering! Bring your technical skills to life in an environment that values innovation, safety, teamwork—and the pursuit of excellence every day!
