POSITION: Campus IT Specialist
Position Title: Campus IT Specialist
Department: Technology Services
Reports to: Director of Technology Services or Designee
Position Summary
The Campus IT Specialist provides on-site technical support and technology coordination to ensure reliable operation of campus technology systems that support instruction and campus operations. This position supports students, teachers, and staff by troubleshooting hardware and software issues, managing user accounts and device deployments, supporting rostering and data systems, and maintaining campus technology inventory. The Campus IT Specialist works closely with campus administration and the Technology Services Department to ensure technology systems are accurate, functional, and aligned with district standards. This role requires a proactive, self-driven individual who can identify issues early, implement sustainable solutions, and support the overall technology environment of the campus.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Technical Support and End User Assistance
- Provide on-site technical support for students, teachers, and campus staff.
- Respond to and resolve help desk tickets in a timely and professional manner.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, network, and classroom technology issues.
- Install, configure, and maintain computers, printers, projectors, and other technology equipment.
- Support instructional technology platforms and classroom systems.
Active Directory and Account Management
- Create, manage, and maintain user accounts in Active Directory.
- Manage organizational units (OUs), security groups, and access permissions.
- Assist with deployment and maintenance of Group Policy Objects (GPO) under direction of Technology Services leadership.
- Support user provisioning and deprovisioning for students and staff.
Student Information System and Data Systems Support
- Support campus use of the Student Information System (SIS), including troubleshooting access and system issues.
- Assist with data entry, verification, and review to ensure accuracy and integrity of student and staff information.
- Identify and escalate data discrepancies or system issues impacting operations or integrations.
- Support campus staff with SIS-related operational needs.
Rostering and Systems Integration
- Support and monitor rostering integrations between the SIS and instructional technology platforms.
- Assist with Clever and other identity and access management platforms.
- Support and troubleshoot OneRoster integrations and synchronization issues.
- Verify accuracy of student, staff, and class roster data across systems.
- Coordinate with Technology Services to ensure proper data synchronization and access provisioning.
Equipment Installation and Maintenance
- Install, deploy, and configure new technology equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance and troubleshooting of devices and infrastructure.
- Assist with device imaging, deployment, and lifecycle replacement.
- Diagnose and repair hardware issues or coordinate repair with vendors.
Inventory and Asset Management
- Maintain accurate inventory records of campus technology equipment.
- Track assignment, movement, and disposition of assets.
- Assist with asset audits and inventory reconciliation.
Documentation and Procedures
- Create and maintain technical documentation, help guides, and procedures.
- Assist in developing and implementing standardized technology procedures on the campus.
- Promote consistency and efficiency in technology use and management.
Procurement and Vendor Coordination
- Assist the Director of Technology Services with identifying technology needs.
- Support procurement, receiving, and deployment of equipment.
- Coordinate with vendors for equipment orders, repairs, and warranty services.
- Maintain positive vendor and service provider relationships.
Proactive Technology Management
- Monitor systems and identify issues before they impact users.
- Recommend improvements to increase reliability and efficiency.
- Analyze recurring issues and implement sustainable, long-term solutions.
- Assist with planning and preparing campus technology deployments.
Campus Operational Support
- Support campus technology needs for testing, instruction, and events.
- Collaborate with campus administration and staff to support instructional and operational goals.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support campus and district technology operations.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

- Understanding of Student Information Systems and data integrity principles.
- Familiarity with Clever, OneRoster, or similar rostering and identity management systems.

Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate degree in Information Technology or related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
- Experience in providing technical support preferred.
- Basic knowledge of Active Directory and Windows environments preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting Student Information Systems.
- Experience with Clever or OneRoster rostering systems.
- Experience working in a school or educational environment.
- Experience with device deployment and inventory systems.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
May be required to work more than 40 hours during the work week
The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands:
May lift 5–10 pounds frequently, 10–50 pounds occasionally, and more than 50 pounds infrequently. Must maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, bending, and twisting. May move small stacks of textbooks, media equipment, desks and other classroom or adaptive equipment. May work indoors and outdoors in varying climate conditions. Subject to visual acuity, speech/hearing, hand/eye coordination and manual dexterity.
This is a non-exempt year-round (12 month) position
