Hobby Horse House is seeking a full-time Community Connection Specialist to provide short-term services to families in Jacksonville and the surrounding areas who have been the subject of a call or report to the State Central Register (SCR) hotline and have been assessed as low risk for ongoing DCFS involvement.
Applicants should possess a bachelor's degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or another related human service field with preferably two years of experience. Responsibilities include providing supportive services and linkage to assure that families can effectively utilize their own strengths and resources to ensure the safety of their children and prevent future DCFS involvement.
Candidates should be willing to work flexible hours; you design your own schedule. Candidates must have reliable transportation, a current driver's license, automobile insurance, and ability to pass a criminal history check. This is a professional agency with a focus on children and families; this includes support and focus for your own family and well-being.
Candidates must be motivated, self-starting, have strong verbal and written communication skills, and strong organizational ability. Pay is based upon education and experience.
