Duties and responsibilities

Aid Manager and Supervisor in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of all assigned Cooper ski lifts

Help Manager and Supervisor train and supervise assigned employees and stations

Oversee certain aspects of training of lift operations staff, including pre-season orientation, on-the-job training, and documentation of this training at direction of Manager or Supervisor

Print, file, and ensure proper completion of daily operations logs

Assist lift operators/attendants in the morning pre-operational setup of all lifts, including snow removal, ramp maintenance, setting up the lift line maze, etc.

Ensure that all morning pre-operational checks are completed properly

Provide breaks to assigned lift operators according to Cooper’s break policies

Ensure all shut-down procedures are followed, no passengers left on lift, and that lift is ready to operate next day

Transport lift operators to top and mid stations of lifts via snowmobile when required
-
Assist in the maintenance of lift load and unload ramps, infields, and mazes throughout the day

Assist Lift Maintenance staff to ensure reliable operation of lifts

Supervise/assist with lift ticket scanning within the maze environment

Ensure cleanliness of lift buildings and other work areas

Perform all tasks of a Lift Operator and Lift Attendant as needed

Any other tasks assigned
Qualifications
-
Must be 18+ with a current and valid Driver’s License
-
High School Diploma or GED required
-
2+ years proven experience in lift operations preferred
-
Basic knowledge of ANSI B-77 and OSHA standards

Excellent organizational and leadership skills
-
Good work ethic, dependability, and excellent customer service & communication skills
-
Familiarity with lift operations and the ski industry in general

Working conditions
The Lift Operations Foreman position is based both inside and outside, and is exposed to temperature extremes (above 85 degrees and below 20 degrees), sun and wind exposure, inclement weather (rain, snow, ice) and high altitudes (10,500+ feet). Must be able to operate snowmobiles and ATVs.
Physical requirements
Must be able to walk on even/uneven/slippery terrain, climb/descend even/uneven/slippery terrain, climb/descend stairs, stand and/or sit for long periods of time, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, lift objects which may be heavy, etc.

Seasonal Status
This is a winter seasonal position with an expected season of early December 2026 through late March-mid April 2027. Employment in subsequent seasons is not guaranteed. Be sure to speak with your supervisor if you desire to return the next season.
