Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Small Engine Technician - GO KARTS to join our service team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engine repair, equipment maintenance, and mechanical troubleshooting for small engine GO-KARTS. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining small engines and related equipment, ensuring optimal performance and customer satisfaction. Experience with dealership operations, diesel engines, and electrical systems is highly valued. The technician will work with various tools and diagnostic schematics to deliver high-quality repairs in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair small engines, including lawnmowers, generators, and other outdoor power equipment
- Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, tune-ups, and part replacements
- Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues
- Repair diesel engines, generators, and heavy equipment as needed
- Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, and other specialized tools effectively
- Conduct vehicle maintenance tasks when applicable
- Assist customers with technical questions and provide excellent customer service
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure safety and efficiency
- Keep detailed records of repairs performed and parts used
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a service technician or mechanic, preferably with dealership or equipment repair background
- Strong mechanical knowledge of small engines, diesel engines, electrical systems, and automotive repair
- Familiarity with schematics, wiring diagrams, and diagnostic tools
- Experience with heavy lifting and the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and soldering techniques
- Knowledge of Caterpillar equipment or similar heavy machinery is a plus
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during repairs or parts handling
- Prior experience in sales or providing technical advice is advantageous
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications or technical training preferred
