The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Work as a team with all personnel to maintain an effective atmosphere and an efficient food and beverage service.
- Check identification of guest to ensure they are of legal age to consume alcoholic beverages; politely refuse beverages to guests who are not of legal age.
- Responsible serve alcohol. Count drinks served and are aware of guest’s state of intoxication.
- Mix, garnish, and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks for patrons of bar and dining room following standard recipes.
- Enter and complete customers’ orders on computer system, accepting different types of payment.
- Anticipate guest’s needs and follow the half-full rule when offering another drink; remain alert of Guest signals (raising a hand, looking directly at you, etc.), and acknowledge guest so they know you will be right with them.
- Other projects and tasks may be delegated as needed.
Must be of legal age to serve alcohol.- California Food Handlers card and ABC certification is required for all food service employees who prepare, store, and serve food and alcohol.
- A willingness to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Basic knowledge of beer, wine, and spirits, and be familiar with standard drink recipes.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. Ability to prioritize and work effectively within a sometimes-pressurized environment.
- High energy and strong verbal communication skills required.
- Ability to read menus, safety documents, and other work-related documents.
