Duties
- Prepare and cook high-quality menu items with precision, adhering to recipes and presentation standards
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including grills, braising pans, poaching stations, and food prep tools
- Assist with menu planning and contribute creative ideas for new dishes or specials
- Maintain strict food safety and sanitizing procedures to ensure a clean and safe kitchen environment
- Handle food production for high-volume service periods while maintaining consistency and quality
- Support dietary department needs by preparing specialized meals or accommodating dietary restrictions
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service and smooth kitchen operations
Requirements
- Proven experience as a cook in a restaurant, sports bar, or lounge setting, with fine dining experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of food handling, safety management, and sanitizing procedures
- Skilled in various cooking techniques including grilling, braising, poaching, and food preparation methods
- Excellent knife skills and ability to operate kitchen equipment confidently
- Experience with menu planning, recipe adherence, and high-volume food production
- Background in dietary aide or dietary department work is advantageous
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
