Staff Geotechnical Engineer (Vancouver, WA)
Columbia West Engineering, Inc., a Vancouver/Portland-based geotechnical and environmental engineering firm, is seeking staff engineers for both Washington and Oregon offices. A Bachelor’s Degree in civil/geotechnical engineering is required. Approximately 2 years of experience and EIT registration is preferred, but not required. The ideal candidate will be an organized, efficient, punctual and motivated team member with excellent communication skills and multi-tasking ability.
Duties and responsibilities of the position include, but may not be limited to:
· Site investigation and exploration;
· preparation of exploration logs, figures, test data, and daily reports;
· Construction monitoring and testing of soil, aggregate, asphalt, shoring, tie-backs, piles, and ground improvements;
· Assist senior design professionals with engineering calculations, preparation of design specifications, and management of construction monitoring projects; and
· Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and staff members.
