The Peoria Marriott Pere Marquette is actively seeking a dynamic and experienced Banquet Manager to shape and optimize our hotel’s banquet landscape. Position Summary:
As Banquet Manager at Peoria Marriott Pere Marquette, a 4-Diamond Marriott hotel, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of all banquet functions to deliver exceptional guest experiences. You will lead a team of banquet staff to execute high-quality events ranging from corporate meetings to upscale weddings and social functions, ensuring compliance with Marriott brand standards and AAA 4-Diamond service expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise the setup, execution, and breakdown of banquet events in accordance with Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), Marriott brand guidelines, and 4-Diamond standards.
- Lead, train, and motivate banquet captains, servers, and housemen to provide efficient and courteous service.
- Collaborate with the culinary, catering, and sales departments to ensure seamless communication and execution of events.
- Monitor inventory of banquet supplies and equipment; coordinate with purchasing and stewarding for timely replenishment.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and compliance with health and safety regulations in all banquet areas.
- Assist in planning staffing schedules based on business forecasts to ensure labor cost control while maintaining service quality.
- Conduct pre-event meetings with staff and ensure post-event evaluations for continuous improvement.
- Manage guest concerns and feedback professionally, ensuring prompt resolution and follow-up.
- Uphold Marriott standards of service and AAA 4-Diamond expectations in every guest interaction.
- Track and report departmental performance metrics including guest satisfaction, labor costs, and revenue targets.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in banquet or event management, preferably in a full-service or luxury hotel environment.
- Previous Marriott brand experience highly preferred.
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
- Working knowledge of BEOs, Micros, and event management software.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- ServSafe and TIPS certification preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and assist with event setup and breakdown.
